The Interaction Point: US LHC & Future Collider Horizons

Submitted by ogomezal on

A three-day conference, featuring the annual meeting of the U.S. LHC Users Association (US LUA) in partnership with Johns Hopkins University at the JHU Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C., will bring together U.S. scientists from Large Hadron Collider projects, along with participants from future collider initiatives, policymakers, funders, industry leaders, and the public, to reflect on the first phase of the LHC era and chart the path ahead. The prime location in the nation's capital makes it an ideal place to celebrate LHC achievements and engage in planning and policymaking.

The US LUA  (https://www.uslua.org) represents the US community of scientists and engineers working in the LHC physics and accelerator programs, and provides a forum of support for, and discussion of, US participation at CERN. US LUA aims to support and uplift US personnel — particularly early career scientists and engineers — as well as acting as a communications channel between the community, US agencies, and the Congressional and Executive Branches.

Early-career members of the community are especially encouraged to attend in person, with support available through the JHU Nexus Early-Career Support Awards. Each supported participant may present a lightning talk or poster and have the opportunity to engage with senior scientists and policymakers. Please follow the instructions to submit an abstract and apply for the award.
