ISOL@MYRRHA is currently under prototyping, design and construction and is part of the MYRRHA phase1 programme at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre SCK CEN in Mol. This facility is integrated as part of the larger MYRRHA project centered around developing an accelerator driven system (ADS) aimed as a large research infrastructure.
In the present design, ISOL@MYRRHA will receive a proton beam of 100 MeV with an intensity up to 500 μA on target (200 μA for actinide targets), however at the start lower currents will be used. This contribution will highlight and focus on the status of the ISOL@MYRRHA design but also some R&D topics, namely those which are part of the on-going collaboration between SCK CEN and CERN.
